What a "founder reservation" is.
Where no product has an announced launch price, ByteLite LLC offers a no-charge founder reservation instead of a paid preorder. Submitting a reservation does not charge any payment method and does not create a binding purchase obligation. It records your interest and locks in the founder benefit formula described on Founder Benefits for that product.
The founder benefit formula.
Where a paid preorder is offered for a priced product, the founder price equals 90% of the standard public launch price, and the entitlement (service duration or usage units) equals the standard entitlement plus ceiling(standard entitlement / 10). This is calculated the same way everywhere on this site and is never described as a flat "20% off."
Activation.
For a paid preorder, any subscription or service entitlement begins at the production-ready release of the purchased service, not at the moment payment is collected, unless a product's specific terms state another explicit trigger.
Refunds and cancellation.
A founder reservation can be withdrawn at any time with no cost, since no payment is collected. Refund and cancellation terms for any future paid preorder will be disclosed on that product's preorder page before checkout, per the standard payment processor's terms.
No stored payment data.
ByteLite LLC does not build or operate a custom card-storage system. Any future paid preorder or reservation payment would be processed by a third-party payment processor; ByteLite LLC would not receive or store full card data.
Relationship to the restaurant pilot.
The Cordel Restaurant Partner Program's $20 pilot placement is a live, already-available paid product and is not part of the founder preorder/reservation system described here. See the Restaurant Partner Program page for its own terms.
Changes.
These terms may be updated as products approach launch. The version disclosed to you at the time of any future purchase governs that purchase.
